Milk Thistle – (Silybum marianum) Milk thistle is a plant named for the white veins on its large prickly leaves. The #1 recommended herb for liver health (the herbs are powerful and strong and highly recommend for treatments of the liver) Milk thistle is used as a natural treatment for liver problems. These liver problems include cirrhosis, jaundice, hepatitis, and gallbladder disorders. Milk Thistle actually grows new liver cells. Multiple studies suggest the benefits of oral milk thistle tea for cirrhosis. In studies up to five years long, milk thistle improved liver function and decreased the number of deaths in people with liver disease.
Recommended Use:
- 1 -2 tsp of herb
- 1 – 1/2 cup(s) Boiling Spring Water
- Steep
- Herbs are best used without sweetener but if you decide you want to use a sweetener, RAW AGAVE is recommended. It is an unprocessed plant-based sugar
How to steep herbs and tea:
- Preparing using 1 teaspoon: Pour 1 cup (8 oz) of boiling water over 1 teaspoon (3 grams) of dried leaf. Close the teapot and allow to stand for 10 minutes, then sweeten to taste.
- Preparing using 2 teaspoons: Pour 1.5 cups (12 oz) of boiling water over 2 teaspoons (5 grams) of dried leaf. Close the teapot and allow to stand for 10 minutes, then sweeten to taste.
